Machinchang Peak is one of the peaks found in the Machinchang Range in Langkawi

The journey starts at Telaga Tujuh by climbing 640 steps to the top of the campsite. After crossing the river that flows to Telaga Tujuh, we will continue our journey through the forest. The climb is quite easy and flat until we reach Camp Santis. Most hikers don’t stop here.

After Camp Scientists, we will reach Camp Tok Ayah to rest for a while.

The journey continues until reaching the summit junction of Telaga Tujuh and from here the challenging climb begins. In most places, the climb is almost vertical and we have to use the rope provided.

Rock formations that are over 500 million years old are clearly visible along the way where the stones seem to be arranged in blocks.

There are so many Tongkat Ali trees (Eurycoma longifolia) found along the way but hikers are advised not to destroy the plants found there.

There are two types of monkeys here, the Long-tailed Macaque and the Dusky-leaf monkey (Langur).

Climbing the peak usually takes between 2-3 hours, depending on the speed of the person, but for those who are interested in getting to know the geology, flora and fauna in the Machinchang Range, it will definitely take longer.

The Machinchang range is over 500 million years old. At that time, it was just a range filled with rocks, without life or plants. The peak area is very small and can only accommodate 2-3 tents for those who want to camp, but remember, there is no water at this peak.

On the way down, we can stop at the Blue Pool to enjoy the natural blue pool, although sometimes, it is too small to accommodate many visitors. If this happens, it is advised to continue down to the larger and exciting Seven Wells
