Gunung Raya

Gunung Raya is the highest peak in Langkawi at 881m asl. Located at the centre of Langkawi Island, it is accessible by car but if you prefer to walk up, we’ll provide all the necessary needs.

Beginning from January 2023, all hiking in Forest Reserves require permits and guide from Forestry Department. If you’re caught without permit, you can be charge under National Forestry Act 1984 which carries a fines up to RM10,000 or three years imprisonment or both.

Gunung Raya is an easy trail as we’ll be ascending through staircases all the way. There’re 4287 steps to climb and it takes between 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. Climbing starts from Lubuk Sembilang and at the end of the trip, we can take a dip at Lubuk Sembilang Ecoforest Park.
